Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has reacted to the reported defection of Peter Obi from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), using a relationship analogy to mock the former Anambra State governor’s political move.

In a post shared on social media Thursday morning, Keyamo compared the situation to that of a bachelor who allegedly refuses to assure a woman she would become his first wife, only to become angry after she leaves for another man who values her better.

According to him, the “beautiful woman” in the analogy represents Obi, while the “bachelor” symbolizes the ADC.

“Please, allow me to interfere in what does not concern me at all this morning,” Keyamo wrote.

“A bachelor loves a young, beautiful woman so much and thinks she’s actually the best of his girlfriends, but refuses to assure her she’d be the first wife. He proposes to keep her as second wife or side-chick.

“The beautiful woman, who knows her worth, has no time to waste waiting for this bachelor and walks away quietly to another suitor who knows her worth and assures her instantly she’d be the first wife.”

The minister further accused the ADC of reacting bitterly to Obi’s exit by allegedly sending supporters to attack him verbally.

“The bachelor then goes berserk and sends his relatives all over the town to be abusing her. Haba! bachelor, why not just stick with your other woman and let her be?

“This is just the case of Peter Obi and the ADC,” he added.
