The management of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State, has expelled eight students over their involvement in examination malpractice during the 2025/2026 academic session.

The decision was approved by the university senate during its 30th regular meeting, following investigations conducted by the institution’s Examination Misconduct Committee. According to the school management, the affected students were found guilty of violating the university’s academic regulations during the first semester examinations.

The expelled students were drawn from different departments and academic levels, including Economics, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Science, Mining Engineering, and Business Administration.

University authorities reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on examination malpractice, warning students against engaging in any form of academic dishonesty. The institution also stressed its commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity, discipline, and academic excellence.

The development has sparked reactions among students and education stakeholders, with many describing the punishment as a strong message against misconduct in tertiary institutions.
