The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has raised concerns over increasing attacks on train services along the Abuja–Kaduna corridor, calling for heightened vigilance from communities and stakeholders.

According to the NRC, the incidents pose a serious threat to passenger safety and the sustainability of rail operations on the busy route connecting Abuja and Kaduna.

The agency noted that acts of vandalism and security breaches along the rail line have continued to disrupt operations, prompting renewed calls for stronger community involvement in safeguarding railway infrastructure.

It emphasized that protecting rail assets is a collective responsibility, urging residents living along the corridor to promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.

The NRC also reaffirmed its commitment to working with security operatives to enhance safety measures and ensure uninterrupted train services.

The development highlights ongoing security challenges affecting critical infrastructure, particularly along the Abuja–Kaduna rail line, one of Nigeria’s most important transport routes.
