INEC has formally recognised Hakeem Baba-Ahmed as National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), updating its portal to reflect the party’s new leadership.

The commission acted within 24 hours of backlash over the omission, despite being present at the PRP’s March 28, 2026 convention in Abuja.

The update settles the issue. The Baba-Ahmed-led leadership is now officially recognised.

Also listed on the INEC portal are National Secretary Kanu Uchenna, National Treasurer Bayawo Abdullahi, National Financial Secretary Chuka Patrick, and National Legal Adviser Vincent Okudu.

The earlier delay triggered protests and raised questions, but INEC’s action closes that chapter.

A rival faction had challenged the convention. That challenge is now overtaken by events. INEC has taken a position.
