The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, was represented at the event by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo. In his address, Hon. Adebanjo emphasized that procurement under the current administration is not merely a routine administrative exercise but the bedrock of meaningful and sustainable development.

“Our administration recognizes that procurement goes beyond routine administrative procedures. It is the foundation upon which meaningful and sustainable development is built. Every project undertaken by this Local Government must be guided by due process, fairness, and value for money,” Hon. Adewale Adebanjo stated on behalf of the Executive Chairman.

He further called on all contractors to uphold the highest standards of integrity, competence, and timely project delivery, urging them to align with the government’s vision of transparent and people-centered development.

Dr. Adekoya Augustine Adesanya, the Council Manager, formally declared the bid process open. A total of 29 bids from various contractors were received and opened during the exercise.

The Head of Procurement Unit, Mrs. Raodat Titilola Issa, disclosed that the electronic advertisement for the bid opening was published in National Dailies over the past 14 days to give wide publicity and enable residents of Ibeju-Lekki to witness the process. She stressed that the exercise was conducted to ensure fairness, transparency, and credibility in the procurement process.

The bid opening was observed by representatives of various stakeholders, including Youth Bodies, Student Bodies, Members of the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), and several Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), further validating the openness of the process.
