A former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has launched a scathing attack on a faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following its recent convention, describing the gathering as disorganized and lacking credibility.
In a strongly worded statement, Fani-Kayode said he observed what the group presented as a party convention but found it “pitiful,” alleging poor organization, overcrowding, and inadequate facilities. He criticized the atmosphere at the event, claiming participants appeared exhausted and that tensions led to arguments and physical altercations.
The former minister also took aim at some speakers at the event, recounting moments he described as embarrassing and chaotic. He alleged that one elderly figure mistakenly referenced the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) before correcting himself, while another made bold political claims about defeating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Fani-Kayode further criticized the overall presentation of the gathering, questioning the seriousness and readiness of the ADC faction as a viable political force ahead of future elections.
Concluding his remarks, he dismissed the party’s prospects, asserting that it poses no meaningful challenge to the ruling party and predicting an easy path to victory for President Tinubu in 2027.
