Residents of Lagos State have expressed deep frustration over worsening economic conditions and rising insecurity, as a viral video circulating on social media captures citizens lamenting their daily struggles.

In the trending footage, a group of residents compared the current administration with past governments, arguing that despite having a president of Yoruba origin, the expected benefits of political representation have not translated into improved living conditions.

According to the speakers in the video, hardship, rising poverty levels, homelessness, and insecurity have continued to affect communities across Lagos, with some describing the situation as increasingly unbearable.

“When Goodluck Jonathan was president, he didn’t break Yoruba land. When Buhari was president, he didn’t break Yoruba land. But now that we have Tinubu, who is a Yoruba man… we are suffering, dying every day, and becoming homeless,” one of the voices in the video alleged.

The residents further described the current situation as resembling “dictatorship in a democratic system,” calling for urgent government intervention to address economic challenges and security concerns affecting ordinary citizens.

The video has since sparked mixed reactions online, with Nigerians divided over the claims, while others urge caution and emphasize the need for broader national context when discussing governance and economic hardship.
