Renowned music executive and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has shed light on the enormous financial commitment required to push Afrobeats music onto the global stage.

Speaking on music promotion and marketing costs, Don Jazzy disclosed that promoting two songs in the Afrobeats genre can cost as much as $300,000.

He further revealed that Mavin Records and its partners invested approximately $5 million into the promotion of Rema’s global smash hit, “Calm Down,” after the song began gaining massive international traction.

According to Don Jazzy, the substantial investment was necessary to sustain the song’s momentum and expand its reach across international markets, helping it become one of the biggest Afrobeats records in history.

“People think once a song goes viral, the job is done. We spent $5 million on Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ after it went viral globally,” he said.
