Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have issued a one-week ultimatum threatening to execute 176 residents, largely women and children, abducted from the Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria.
This ultimatum was relayed by the captives to their families via phone calls, a move confirmed by the traditional ruler of Woro, Alhaji Saliu Bio, whose wife is among those in captivity.
The abductors expressed frustration with the government’s perceived lack of urgency in negotiations and stated they are losing money feeding the captives.
The victims were abducted on February 3, 2026, when suspected terrorists invaded Woro and Nuku communities, following a violent, long-term captivity.
