Human rights activist and politician has declined an invitation to attend the recently proposed opposition summit in , describing the gathering as an attempt to recycle failed political actors.

In a statement, Sowore argued that many of those behind the summit had previously presided over years of stagnation, corruption, and poor governance, and could not now reposition themselves as agents of change. He maintained that Nigerians “are not suffering from amnesia” and should not be misled by what he termed a political rebranding effort.

The former presidential candidate emphasized that his party, the (AAC), would not participate in what he called a “charade,” insisting instead on building a genuine, people-driven alternative.

Sowore also took aim at major political parties, including the (APC), (PDP), (ADC), and the , accusing them of representing what he described as entrenched political decay.

According to him, Nigeria does not need a coalition of familiar faces, but a complete departure from the past, driven by integrity, accountability, and transformative leadership.
